Video: 4,000 inmates in the Haiti capital’s main prison have escaped
NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Amidst the horror and devastation of the massive 7.0 earthquake that has rocked Haiti, almost all of the 4,000 inmates in the capital’s main prison have escaped.
“They obviously took advantage of this disaster,” Marcal Izard, a spokesman for the International Red Cross, said.
CNN’s Anderson Cooper visited the jail in Port-au-Prince and filed a report Friday. “We heard the prison was destroyed. We didn’t realize we’d find the door wide open,” he said.
Montana to build multi-use execution chamber
“We are not building an execution chamber,” he said.

I hope I am not the only Fool to develop total disgust with knowing that we all are being marked with a scarlet letter by the upcoming obamacare. Specificaley, the punishment for being poor in this country. By being poor and not being capable of purchasing the obamacare, you will be fined and/or imprisoned. This concept goes back to the days in England when people were placed in prison for not being able to satisfy a financial obligation. California may resume executing prisoners
More than three years after it suspended executions, California is considering whether to resume the practice.
Courts determined that the three-chemical method of lethal injection constituted cruel and unusual punishment because of the pain it inflicted.
Federal Judge Jeremy Fogel — whose ruling halted executions in California — told KPCC’s Patt Morrison that a governor-appointed panel crafted procedures for future executions.
